Self-esteem…

Today’s parents, teachers and social workers are faced with a unique challenge: to restore, stimulate or maintain the self-esteem of their pupil, patient or child… without being able to clearly identify the object of their concern.

What is the relationship between self-esteem and shame? Is it incompatible with shyness?

Does it stand in the way of humility? Isn’t it linked to a form of arrogance?

Does it force us to renounce modesty? How does it destroy itself?

In this conference, Bruno will give a concrete definition of what is meant by the concept of self-esteem, so that parents and professionals involved in education or social work can gain a clearer understanding of the mechanisms that underpin it.
