Contrary to what certain troublemakers who want to humiliate the JRC might think, the JRC senior management allows “anything to happen” not from a lack of courage or sensitivity, but only because it is a matter of putting in place a revolutionary research programme for “syphoning” public money in all legality. R&D is asking Mrs Geoghegan-Quinn the new Research Commissioner whether she is aware of such management tests which “contribute” to the reputation and credibility of the JRC and its staff.

Since its creation, R&D Commission and Council has worked non-stop to defend the interest of staff and as well, to offer a whole series of services and training, most of them free of charge. Now, all of R&D’s work has been publicly recognised by US-Council who, in a tract published on 30 April 2010, have handsomely praised all this work. R&D is very pleased by the recognition given by US since that could only encourage them to support the positions our union takes when it comes to defending staff and the European Civil Service more effectively.

Multilingual 112 in Brussels: progress achieved

Following the information meeting of February 18, more than 30 colleagues became volunteers for helping the pilot project of the Brussels’ Fire Brigade that aims to ensure a multilingual support for the operators answering calls to the 100/112 in the Brussels Region.
