Working Outside The E.U.: Elections Brussels, 23 October 2000 |
Dear colleagues You are urged to elect your local representatives during the week of 11-15 December 2000. You will already have received your election notice. R&D is a young, open, democratic and solidarity-focused trade union. It is increasingly gaining the confidence of Commission personnel, and now has the second highest membership. R&D is fully committed to defending the independence, efficiency and transparency of the European public service. R&D calls for a massive turn-out at the elections R&D is fully aware of your fundamental role in the European public service, and closely monitors the Commissions latest moves with regard to the External Relations Service. R&D listens, and will continue to listen, to your problems. Working conditions and the reconciliation between working and family life in delegations is hard. Your support is essential if we are to more effectively defend your interests. R&D remains faithful to its policy of concrete, workable proposals, and will call for the setting up of a permanent helpline for officials and local agents on delegation, and for the opening of an interactive website enabling regular contact with Commission HQ and/or between delegations. If you wish to stand as an R&D candidate, contact us at any time by sending a message to Franco.Ianniello or Olga.Profili The Executive Committee |
